SCSVMV CISCO ACADEMY

Profile

Department of Computer Science and Engineering has started “CISCO Networking Academy” in February 2011. Now the CISCO Networking Academy was migrated to “Cisco Net space”. Currently we are running fourth batch having 25 students have registered, totally 200+ students have registered in four batches from various departments like CSE, IT, MCA, ECE, EEE and E&I.

Cisco Systems and SCSVMV University are collaborating to introduce the program “Cisco Networking Academy” to the Engineering students of the SCSVMV University. Our University has established a tie-up with CISCO Networking Academy and Our University is one of the local academics functioning under the direct control and monitoring of regional Academy, VIT University Vellore. At present we are conducting the CCNA Exploration course which includes four modules. This is an initiative step towards developing the talent of the students for advanced roles in Cisco networking. It involves in developing the talent of the students to bridge the gap between ‘Cisco’s talent requirements’ and ‘student’s readiness’ as they graduate otherwise. This is a solid platform that helps create opportunities for technology adoption and strengthens Cisco Networking competencies among students. The course covers technologies required to build classic networking as well as the new technologies in networking field. These technologies include designing wired, wireless LAN and WAN, storage network, routing, security and etc... Cisco is the worldwide leader in Networking that transforms how people connect, communicate and collaborate.

CISCO is a biggest online classroom in the world. Cisco’s network-centric platform is changing the way we live, work and play. Founded in 1984, Cisco pioneered the development of Internet Protocol (IP)-based networking technologies. This tradition continues with the development of routing, switching and other network based technologies such as application network services, collaboration, home networking, security, storage area networking, Tele Presence systems, unified communications, unified computing, video systems and wireless. All of these technologies are made possible due to the evolution of the network.

Cisco Networking Academy is coordinated by  Dr. S. Rajalakshmi, professor, Director, SJCAC and CISCO Curriculum Lead CSE Dept., with four trained faculty Mr.K. Sivakumar, Asst.
